Kailani Humeston is an Associate Attorney based in Nyman Turkish’s Roseville office, where she advocates for clients during their Social Security Disability hearings. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from USC Gould School of Law in 2023, along with a Public Interest Law Certificate. In recognition of her dedication to public interest work, she received several honors, including the Adam Freeman Scott Memorial Grant, Miller-Johnson Equal Justice Prize, and the LASH Grant. While in law school, she also served as Managing Editor of The Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice. Kailani is admitted to practice in the Central and Eastern Districts of California. 

Before joining Nyman Turkish, Kailani represented children in the foster care dependency system in Los Angeles County and later advocated for employees in wage and hour class actions across California. She joined Nyman Turkish to continue supporting individuals as they navigate complex legal systems in pursuit of justice. Kailani is also the author of a published legal article analyzing sibling placement decisions in California’s dependency system, “There is no perfect solution here”: An Analysis of Sibling Placement Decisions in the California Dependency System, 32 S. CAL. REV. L. & SOC. JUST. 1 (2023) 

Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, thrifting, and spending time outdoors with her dog, Indy.
