Breanna Hayes is an Associate Attorney in Nyman Turkish’s Northern California Social Security Disability office. She earned three bachelor’s degrees in Spanish Literature, Sociology, and Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2013. Breanna went on to receive her Master of Social Work from San Diego State University and her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, both in 2022. She joined Nyman Turkish in August 2025, following her return from Italy, where she and her husband were stationed for his military service.

Breanna’s professional background reflects a longstanding commitment to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities. Prior to law school, she worked as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician and later interned with San Diego’s Patient Advocacy Program, representing individuals detained under California’s 5150 Welfare and Institutions Code in due process hearings. She also served as a legal advocate for a nonprofit organization supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and violent crime, providing immigration advocacy and leading a program assisting Afghan refugees through the Special Immigrant Visa Program. In recognition of her dedication to public service, Breanna received the Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services for her volunteer work with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego while in law school.

Outside of her legal practice, Breanna has been an active member of both the San Diego Beekeepers Association and the Denver Beekeepers Society and has maintained her own beehives. She hopes to return to beekeeping soon and, in the meantime, enjoys spending time with her pets and exploring her new home in Northern California.
