Alanah Haskin is an Associate Attorney in the Michigan office of Nyman Turkish PC. She represents clients during their Social Security Disability hearings.

During her time in law school, Alanah represented individuals through Wayne State University’s Disability Law Clinic and Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic. Alanah was a member of the clinical team which received the Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Clinical Team Award. Alanah also clerked for a law firm writing workers’ compensation demands and Social Security hearing briefs. During Alanah’s last semester of law school, she was a judicial intern to Judge Arthur J. Tarnow of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Prior to joining Nyman Turkish PC, Alanah represented labor unions and individuals in employment discrimination matters.

Alanah is active in the LGBTQ+ Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Alanah with other LGBTQ+ Law Section attorneys submitted an amicus brief to the Michigan Supreme Court in the case of Rouch World LLC v. Department of Civil Rights, No. 162482, advocating that Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act protects individuals based on sexual orientation.

Alanah is the proud daughter of two registered nurses. Growing up with parents in the medical field, Alanah knew that she wanted to do work that contained a medical component, making Social Security law a perfect fit.

Outside of work, Alanah performs improvisational theater, explores the City of Detroit, and spends time with family and friends.
