No Upfront Fees: How Disability Lawyers Get Paid Only If You Win 

Attorney fees for disability lawyers are regulated and approved by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Disability Lawyer Fee Breakdown

Currently, disability attorney fees are capped at 25% of the client’s back pay or $9,200.  This fee isn’t paid upfront.  The attorney’s fee is taken from the past-due benefits the client is awarded from the SSA. 

Importantly, attorneys are only paid if they win the case. While some law firms may charge additional fees such as fees for requesting your medical records, Nyman Turkish does not. 

The 25% fee structure, capped at $9,200, is designed to protect clients. This fee is contingent on us winning your case and securing a back award—we only get paid if we win. Our interests are fully aligned with yours. If we lose, 25% of zero is zero. It’s also important to note that this cap doesn’t mean we automatically get $9,200. For example, if your back award is $1,000, our fee is just $250. If it’s $10,000, the fee is $2,500. Even if your back award is $100,000, the fee is capped at $9,200, rather than $25,000. This cap ensures your protection. 

If we apply for SSDI on your behalf and you win within the first five months from the onset date of your disability, we won’t receive a fee. Social Security law requires you to be disabled for five full calendar months before benefits are paid. If you’re approved during this period, our fee is 25% of zero—meaning you pay nothing.
